Job Description
Step into an engaging educational environment as a full-time middle school math instructor for the upcoming academic year. This onsite contract opportunity offers you the chance to inspire and support general education students, with a structured schedule aligned to the school calendar. You'll work collaboratively with experienced educators and have dedicated support for students requiring special education services.
Your journey will begin in late August 2026 and run through mid-June 2027, providing approximately 35 hours each week within the hours of 8:30AM to 4PM. As the primary math educator, you’ll design and implement lessons grounded in state and district standards, utilizing formative assessments and differentiated strategies to reach every learner.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current active teaching certification or licensure appropriate for middle school math
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum requirement for emergency teaching permit)
- Prior experience working within a school setting
- Demonstrated mastery of instructional content and resources
- Skillful classroom and behavioral management, especially within urban settings
- Familiarity and comfort with the district and its community
- Reliable transportation for daily commute
- Ability to secure all appropriate Pennsylvania clearances
- Commitment to working fixed school hours without scheduling accommodations
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver dynamic math lessons to general education students, following established curriculum guidelines
- Adapt instructional techniques for diverse learning needs and leverage collaborative support for any special education students
- Manage classroom environment to foster learning and positive behavior
- Implement ongoing formative assessments, adjusting instruction to maximize student engagement and achievement
