Physical Therapist - School Setting in Tavares, FL
Job Description
Take your expertise as a Physical Therapist to the next level in a dynamic school-based setting serving students from Pre-K to grade 12. Start your contract assignment for the upcoming school year with a well-supported, collaborative team. This is an on-site position working full-time, Monday through Friday, from 7:30am to 4:00pm (includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch). Your caseload will span an average of 2-3 schools per day and will be shared with another Physical Therapist and a Physical Therapist Assistant.
Interviews are actively being conducted as of 7/21, so swift consideration will be given to qualified candidates.
What you bring:
- Valid and current Physical Therapy license in the State of Florida
- Previous school-based experience highly valued, but candidates without this background are welcome to apply
- Commitment to providing services to K-12 and select Pre-K students
- Comfortable working as part of an itinerant team across multiple campuses
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and other therapists
What you'll do:
- Deliver direct and indirect physical therapy services to a diverse student population
- Contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) development, goal setting, and progress monitoring
- Travel between 2–3 school campuses per day within the district (transportation required)
- Work alongside other PTs and PTAs to ensure students’ needs are met
- Maintain required documentation and participate in onboarding and compliance processes as outlined by the district
