Job Description
Make a meaningful impact on the lives of K-12 students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) with OMS certification in an engaging, full-time contract role for the school year. This opportunity offers a dynamic itinerant position where you’ll serve 15–20 students across 13 campuses, shaping inclusive educational experiences for learners with visual impairments.
You’ll be based out of the district’s central office, with the ability to work with scheduling to support an optimal weekly routine—ensuring you have the flexibility you need while delivering top-quality direct and consultative services. Most visits are scheduled ahead, with some services required only monthly. This role begins August 10, 2026, and continues through the end of the academic year.
What you bring:
- Valid Florida Professional TVI license
- OMS certification
- Passion for empowering visually impaired students in K-12 settings
- Adaptability for an itinerant position (daily travel between schools)
- Strong communication and consultative skills
- Prior school-based experience is highly preferred, but not strictly required
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Providing direct instruction and support to K-12 students with visual impairments
- Delivering both in-person and consultative services tailored to student needs
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families to foster student development
- Maintaining documentation in accordance with district policies
- Flexibly managing your caseload and daily schedule across multiple campuses
