Talent Acquisition Specialist (Construction/Engineering/Manufacturing) Location: Houston area, Texas Job Type: Contract Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM Pay Rate: $30.00 - $36.00/hr (DOE) Position Overview: LHH is proactively seeking a strategic and results-driven Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our client's team on a contract basis in the Houston area. This role will focus on full-cycle recruiting and talent strategy for positions within construction, engineering, and/or manufacturing environments. As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will partner closely with leadership and hiring managers to attract, engage, and hire top talent across technical, skilled trades, and operational roles. In addition to recruiting, this role will play a key part in workforce planning, employer branding, and improving hiring processes. The ideal candidate has experience in industrial or project-based hiring and thrives in a fast-paced, high-demand environment. Key Responsibilities: • Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts for roles such as engineers, project managers, skilled trades, maintenance technicians, and production staff. • Partner with hiring managers and leadership to understand hiring needs, workforce planning, and project timelines. • Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies targeting construction, engineering, and manufacturing talent pools. • Build and maintain pipelines for high-demand and hard-to-fill positions. • Conduct candidate screenings and interviews, evaluating technical skills, certifications, and overall fit. • Oversee and coordinate the interview and offer process, ensuring a smooth candidate experience. • Provide market insights on compensation trends, talent availability, and hiring challenges. • Support employer branding efforts, recruitment campaigns, and outreach initiatives. • Track and analyze recruiting metrics (time-to-fill, quality of hire, pipeline activity). • Ensure compliance with company hiring practices, policies, and documentation standards. • Collaborate with HR and onboarding teams to support a seamless hiring and onboarding process. • Identify opportunities to improve recruiting processes and drive efficiencies. Qualifications: Education: • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred. Experience: • 3+ years of recruiting or talent acquisition experience. • Experience supporting construction, engineering, manufacturing, or industrial hiring strongly preferred. Technical Skills: • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). • Experience with ATS platforms and LinkedIn Recruiter required/preferred. Industry Knowledge: • Familiarity with hiring for technical and skilled roles (e.g., engineers, project-based roles, trades, industrial workforce). Communication: • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence hiring decisions and build relationships. Organization: • Ability to manage multiple requisitions and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Attention to Detail: • High level of accuracy in tracking candidates, reporting metrics, and maintaining compliance. Problem-Solving: • Ability to develop creative sourcing strategies for competitive and niche talent markets. Teamwork & Leadership: • Collaborative and proactive, with the ability to partner across HR, operations, and leadership teams.
