Location: Knoxville, TN 37920

Schedule: Usually, you will need to work overnight (10pm-7am) when stores are under operations and cannot have installations go on while they are open for business. Depending on the certain project you are currently on, it may be days or nights.

Travel: Will need to be willing to travel.

Must-Haves:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of alarm system installations and service work
  • Ability to operate network certifiers Proficient in eight of ten areas of focus: Voice, Data, Fire Alarm, Fiber, Burg Alarm, CCTV, Access Control, Digital Signage, Access Points, Networking
  • Must complete and maintain BICSI Installer 2 Copper and BICSI Installer 2 Fiber certification.
  • Maintain LIFT and OSHA30 Certifications.
  • Must complete product specific trainings (CommScope, Leviton, AXIS)
  • Experience using Microsoft Teams
  • Experience being point of contact for escalations, service calls, or close outs.
  • Ability to lead a team/project - Ability to track projects from beginning to completion.

Job Description:

Insight Global's client, a leading IT Infrastructure Security company, is seeking to hire an Alarm Technician in the Knoxville, TN. This lead technician will be responsible for overseeing the installation of all security, voice, data, and alarms in big box retail stores for customers. You will be troubleshooting, installing, testing, and programming security cameras, fire and security alarms, access points, and more.

As a QC Lead, you will oversee projects of IT infrastructure and ensure that all team goals are met/projects are closed out. You will interact with project management team members, IT service desk, and any technicians that are tied to the project.

Other Duties:

  • Perform service work on customer site, based on schedule
  • Provide regular updates (email responses/information) to Project Management Team(s), Resource Center and Service Center in a timely manner
  • Act as point of escalation for clients; resolve issues where possible, otherwise escalate to Supervisor and Project Team(s)
  • Provide complete structured cabling system installations in a variety of retail, financial and office building environments.
  • Terminate and test Category 5e and 6 copper cables to manufacturer and BICSI standards
  • Terminate and test Multi-mode fiber to manufacturer and BICSI standards
  • Install/service equipment racks, cabinets, and cable support systems, including J-hooks, Arlington straps and ladder tray systems
