Diesel Mechanic
Pay: $28.00
Shift: 7am to 4pm M-F
Location: St. Rose, LA.
Integrity Trade Services is hiring a Diesel Mechanic for our client to start immediately. Receive comprehensive benefits through ITS upon hire!
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul marine diesel engines and related systems
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, valve adjustments, and cooling system service
- Repair and maintain fuel, air, exhaust, and lubrication systems
- Inspect and service gearboxes, transmissions, shafts, and propulsion systems
- Test engines and mechanical components; read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Conduct emergency and corrective repairs to minimize vessel downtime
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
- Follow all marine safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
- Work closely with vessel crews, supervisors, and inspectors as needed
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably in a marine or maritime environment
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems a plus
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical failures independently
- Knowledge of marine safety regulations and best practices
- Capable of working in confined spaces, engine rooms, and varying weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Willing to work flexible hours, including odd shifts and overtime
- Must pass all employment screenings
