Prepare specimens for laboratory testing by following quality and safety protocols.
Build trust and confidence with patients by explaining procedures and maintaining a professional, supportive environment.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of all specimen collection activities.
Travel between multiple clinical sites or patient service centers to provide phlebotomy services as assigned.
Adhere to all safety policies, dress codes, and confidentiality standards to promote a positive image.
Demonstrate flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends, holidays, or on-call shifts, based on staffing needs.
Handle multiple priorities efficiently in a high-volume environment while delivering excellent customer service.
Required Skills
Proven phlebotomy skills with 1-3 years of experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to changing environments.
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, peers, and supervisors.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for specimen labeling and documentation.
Proficiency in data entry and keyboard skills.
Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to travel between multiple sites and work flexible hours as needed.
Additional Skills & Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Experience in a patient service center environment is highly desirable.
Capable of handling high-volume workloads and managing multiple priorities efficiently.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, and on-call hours.
Reliable personal transportation; mileage for travel between sites can be submitted for reimbursement.
