Data Center Technician

MUST HAVES:

• Install experience

• Lift over 40 pounds consistently

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Performing precise fiber and copper cabling installations using structured cabling best practices to ensure optimal connectivity and reliability.
• Supporting data center build-out projects from installation through final hand-off, ensuring accuracy, documentation completeness, and alignment with project timelines.
• Diagnosing and resolving hardware issues, collaborating with remote engineering, and networking teams to restore service quickly and minimize downtime.
• Following strict workflow, security, and safety procedures, including ESD protocols, physical access policies, and AWS compliance requirements.
• Managing asset tracking, inventory updates, and work orders through AWS internal ticketing tools and reporting systems.
• Contributing to continuous improvement by identifying workflow inefficiencies and supporting process updates to enhance installation speed and quality.
• Recognized for reliability, attention to detail, and maintaining a high standard of quality in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
• Install and test Battery Backup Units (BBUs) to support power resiliency and maintain uptime for critical systems.
• Maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive customer data and internal AWS operational details in accordance with security and compliance guidelines.
• Organizing and assisting with seasonal team events, helping foster a positive team culture and support employee engagement.
