Job Description

This contract opportunity for the 2026/2027 school year features multiple openings at the elementary (2), PreK, and high school levels. Work full-time, onsite from 8:00am-3:00pm in self-contained classrooms, making a direct impact where it’s needed most.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Valid Tennessee teaching license with required 459 or 461 endorsement
- CDC (Comprehensive Development Classroom) certification
- Experience working as a Special Education Teacher in school settings preferred
- Familiarity with differentiated instruction and IEP implementation
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Compassion, patience, and commitment to student growth
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and carry out individualized lesson plans for students with diverse learning and behavioral needs in a self-contained setting
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records, regularly reporting to case managers and administrators
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom climate to encourage academic, social, and emotional development
- Implement and continuously update students’ IEPs through observation and data-driven modification
- Partner closely with other educators, support staff, and families to ensure coordinated care
- Participate in required meetings, professional development, and staff trainings
