Job Description
Step into a rewarding position for the 2024-2025 academic year, supporting high school students as a contracted Speech-Language Pathologist. Provide essential services to 12th graders and become a valued resource for students, families, and educators. Collaborate with a dedicated team to foster each student’s communication skills and overall academic progress.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid SLP - CCC certification
- Illinois state licensure or eligibility to obtain prior to start
- Previous experience in a school-based setting is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of developing and implementing IEPs
- Strong communication skills with students, families, and multi-disciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy to 12th-grade students according to their IEPs
- Assess, diagnose, and treat a range of communication disorders
- Consult with teachers and staff to support individualized student goals
- Document ongoing student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with district policies
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student plans
- Adapt therapy techniques to meet diverse student needs and learning environments
- Serve as a resource for staff and parents regarding communication and language development
This contracted opportunity spans the full academic year, from August 19, 2024, through May 30, 2025, at 35 hours per week. You’ll have the chance to make a meaningful difference in students’ lives while working within a supportive school environment.
