Draw quality blood samples from patients, including pediatric and geriatric populations, in a safe, skillful, and accurate manner
Prepare specimens for laboratory testing according to established procedures
Verify patient demographic information and accurately label specimens in the presence of patients to ensure correct identification
Maintain thorough records and documentation of all procedures and patient information
Create a trusting environment by clearly explaining procedures and demonstrating professionalism and confidentiality
Ensure a safe and professional environment while adhering to all policies and safety protocols
Perform venipuncture and capillary collections in diverse settings, including patient service centers and doctor’s offices
Support process excellence by demonstrating leadership behaviors and attention to detail in daily duties
Required Skills
Proven phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric blood collection
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume environment
Excellent customer service and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, peers, and supervisors
Attention to detail and accuracy to ensure specimen integrity and correct documentation
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Proficiency with keyboard/data entry for accurate record-keeping
Additional Skills & Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington
At least three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
Minimum two years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment preferred
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record if applicable
Willingness to travel and work across multiple locations on flexible hours
