This is a remote role working out of approved states: AZ, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MI, NJ, NY, OH, OK, SC, TN, TX

Overview of responsibilities:

  • Full sales cycle role. Drive sales growth through the development of broker and client relationships, strategic market expansion, and the promotion of employee benefit solutions.
  • Accountable for consistently achieving or exceeding personal sales production expectations by leveraging expertise in Administrative Services Only (ASO) and self-funded products to create and implement tactical sales strategies.
  • Create and present competitive, data-driven proposals for prospective brokers and clients, leveraging stop-loss market insights and cost-benefit analyses to drive sales and client adoption.
  • Maintain activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, and proposals.
  • Market medical and ancillary products to brokers and employers; formulate plan alternatives and strategies.
  • Create avenues for new business sales from a wide variety of self-developed sources and actively seek referrals.
  • Identify, recommend, and champion process improvements to increase sales of product offerings.
  • Requires frequent travel to client or prospect sites (reimbursed via company credit card)

Requirements/Must Haves:

  • 5+ years proven success in exceeding business sales goals in health benefits, preferably in self-funded, ASO markets.
  • Strong working knowledge of benefits insurance (broker or carrier side) as well as self-funding and stop loss reinsurance market.
  • Experience explaining third-party, self-insured benefits (medical, flexible spending accounts, minimum essential coverage, and other ancillary products including types of stop loss insurance).
  • Knowledge of methods for promoting sales or services; negotiation and presentation skills including RFP/RFI responses, financial analysis, underwriting collaboration, and contract negotiations.
  • Active required industry licensing or ability to obtain and maintain; license needed within 90 days of hire (the company will support/reimburse for this).
  • Ability to travel frequently to client or prospect sites; must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Solid working knowledge of standard computer applications including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Preferred Skills
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in business, healthcare administration, related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with "self-funded" plans
Schedule/Shift

Flexible schedule / No set concrete hours (salaried role; must be available during business hours to get the job done, attend conferences, and meetings)
