Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A per diem opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist to support a long-term care and mail order pharmacy environment. This role focuses on accurate dispensing, patient consultation, and pharmacy operations within a 6-week contract duration.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal regulations
  • Monitor patient medication adherence, identifying over-use or other issues
  • Ensure prescribed medications are appropriate and tailored to patient needs
  • Maintain confidential and precise patient records alongside pharmacy documentation
  • Provide expert advice to patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and answer related questions
  • Offer patient services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management
  • Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors
  • Compound medications for both internal and external use, preparing sterile solutions per protocol
  • Oversee pharmacy personnel including technicians and clerks, ensuring smooth daily operations
  • Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory effectively
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers to identify and resolve drug-related problems

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Pennsylvania pharmacy license required
  • Previous pharmacy experience essential
  • Experience in long-term care and mail order pharmacy settings highly desirable
