Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher for blended 1st and 2nd grade classrooms. This position offers a chance to make a meaningful difference, working with a diverse caseload in a supportive school environment near Oglethorpe, GA.
This contract role begins August 3, 2026 and extends through May 21, 2027. You’ll work 35 hours per week across five days, helping shape and guide students in a blended classroom setting.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid GA Special Education Teaching Certification required
- Experience working with younger elementary students preferred
- Ability to adapt to the unique needs of a blended classroom
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to 1st and 2nd grade students with varying needs
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
- Track progress and maintain thorough records to monitor student growth
- Communicate regularly with families to ensure ongoing support and engagement
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom climate
