Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a valued school-based physical therapist in the Fort Worth area. This part-time, onsite role spans the academic year, from August 11, 2026, to May 25, 2027, offering a schedule of 20 hours per week within the hours of 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Physical Therapist with active credentials to practice in Texas
- Previous experience in a school setting strongly preferred
- Proficiency creating and following Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Ability to effectively supervise and mentor SLPAs
- Strong communication skills to report on student progress and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to providing excellent care to diverse student populations
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervise and provide guidance to assigned Speech-Language Pathology Assistants
- Design and deliver both individual and group physical therapy sessions tailored to meet each student’s unique needs as outlined in their IEP
- Conduct relevant evaluations, track student progress, and complete timely documentation
- Assess readiness for the discontinuation of therapy services, ensuring transitions are smooth and appropriate
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student success
