Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a school-based Occupational Therapist working with a collaborative, close-knit team in a dynamic educational environment. This full-time position offers the ideal mix of structured, on-site interaction and work-from-home flexibility—spend three days in the district and, workload permitting, enjoy remote work for two days each week.
You’ll work alongside two experienced OTs and a dedicated COTA, helping ensure that every student in special education receives the occupational therapy services they need. With a caseload of approximately 200 students out of 1300 in special education, there’s meaningful work ahead—and plenty of teamwork to help you thrive.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Licensed and registered Occupational Therapist (OT) with experience in school settings preferred
- Strong understanding of IEPs, related documentation, and student-centered therapy approaches
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Flexibility to adjust between elementary (7:30–3:30) and secondary (8:00–4:00) school schedules as needed
- Capability to balance on-site and remote work, prioritizing timely completion of tasks
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services to students in special education
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families regarding student progress and strategies
- Attend ARD and back-to-school meetings (offered with advanced scheduling and flexibility)
- Manage and document caseload effectively, ensuring compliance with regulations
- Provide input and support for a varied caseload across up to four possible sites
