Job Description
Make an impact in the educational community by supporting students across multiple school sites as a school psychologist. This contract opportunity focuses on providing vital K-12 services in a dynamic environment with a multidisciplinary team. You’ll deliver comprehensive educational assessments, collaborate closely with school professionals and families, and play a pivotal role in helping students thrive academically and emotionally. The role begins with professional development days starting 7/27 and offers a part-time, 29-hour work week with flexibility for some hybrid work.
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct thorough psychoeducational evaluations, adhering to IDEA compliance.
- Communicate assessment findings sensitively and effectively with parents, educators, and teams.
- Develop concise and comprehensive evaluation reports within designated timelines.
- Serve as a resource, providing referrals to community support as needed.
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, administrators, social workers, and speech-language pathologists.
- Maintain detailed case records and program documentation.
- Participate in in-service trainings and contribute insights during multidisciplinary meetings.
- Interpret test data and help plan tailored programs for individual students.
- Explain assessment processes to students, families, and school staff.
Desired qualifications:
- Valid Louisiana DOE certification in School Psychology.
- Demonstrated experience in K-12 educational assessment and eligibility processes.
- Deep knowledge of IDEA, special education, and psychoeducational evaluation best practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Must complete district background check and fingerprinting before start.
