Job Description

As an integral member of the special education team, you’ll work closely with students, teachers, and families to create inclusive learning opportunities and remove barriers to communication. This flexible contract assignment allows you to build meaningful relationships, share expertise, and facilitate student growth throughout the school year.
Qualifications:
- California Teaching Credential with Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) authorization required
- Experience in a public school or educational setting highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and advocacy skills
- Ability to develop and adapt individualized educational plans for diverse learners
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and accessible classroom environment
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, both individually and in group settings
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to develop and implement effective IEPs
- Facilitate language development, auditory training, and communication access in all academic spaces
- Employ a variety of instructional strategies, technologies, and accommodations to meet student needs
- Provide ongoing consultation and training to school staff regarding best practices for students with hearing impairments
