Job Requirements:
- Valid Illinois Plumbing License
- Minimum 3 years of experience in plumbing or construction field
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to inspection sites
- Ability to conduct on-site inspections and document findings
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to review documentation, invoices, and scope of work
Plusses:
- Experience working with contractor coordination or dispute resolution
- Familiarity with inspection reporting tools/software
- Prior experience in residential property inspections
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
Day-to-Day:
- Review cost estimates, contractor documentation, and scope of work
- Conduct installation inspections at applicant homes
- Take photos and document findings; complete pass/fail inspection reports using a company laptop
- Review invoices vs. awarded amounts to determine payments
- Coordinate with contractors to resolve documentation issues
- Support resolution of applicant-contractor concerns
- Collaborate with intake specialists and internal staff
- Maintain accurate file documentation and reports
- Plan and execute inspections scheduled 1–2 days in advance

Insight Global is seeking a Construction/Plumbing Inspector for a municipal-focused client supporting residential improvement programs. This candidate will be responsible for reviewing contractor submissions, ensuring installations meet required standards, and conducting on-site inspections at applicant properties. The role requires a detail-oriented professional who can effectively document findings, compare project costs to approved funding, and collaborate with contractors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies. This is a hands-on position combining fieldwork and administrative reporting, ideal for someone with strong plumbing expertise and a passion for quality assurance in residential projects.
Compensation: $35-$42/ hour.
Schedule: Onsite in Cicero, IL with travel; 9AM-6PM.
