Special Education Teacher – Medically Fragile Self-Contained Classroom

Schedule: Full-Time
School Year: August 5, 2026 – May 27, 2027

ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support a school district for the 2026–2027 school year. This full-time opportunity is ideal for educators who are passionate about working with students with complex medical and educational needs in a highly supportive, self-contained classroom environment.

Position Overview

The Special Education Teacher will provide specialized instruction and individualized support to students in a medically fragile self-contained classroom. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with classroom assistants, related service providers, and families to create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment for students with significant support needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized instruction and support for students receiving special education services
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals
  • Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning, behavioral, and medical needs
  • Collaborate with classroom assistants, administrators, families, and related service providers
  • Supervise and coordinate classroom support staff
  • Participate in IEP meetings and maintain compliance with state and district requirements
  • Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment

  • Schedule: Full-Time
  • School Year: August 5, 2026 – May 27, 2027
  • Setting: Medically Fragile Self-Contained Classroom
  • Caseload: Approximately 7 students
  • Classroom Support: 3 instructional assistants

Requirements

  • Active state Special Education Teaching License (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Moderate/Severe Special Education License preferred (Mild/Moderate certification may be considered)
  • Previous experience supporting students with significant disabilities or medically fragile populations preferred
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
