Special Education Teacher – Medically Fragile Self-Contained Classroom
Schedule: Full-Time
School Year: August 5, 2026 – May 27, 2027
ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support a school district for the 2026–2027 school year. This full-time opportunity is ideal for educators who are passionate about working with students with complex medical and educational needs in a highly supportive, self-contained classroom environment.
Position Overview
The Special Education Teacher will provide specialized instruction and individualized support to students in a medically fragile self-contained classroom. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with classroom assistants, related service providers, and families to create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment for students with significant support needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction and support for students receiving special education services
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning, behavioral, and medical needs
- Collaborate with classroom assistants, administrators, families, and related service providers
- Supervise and coordinate classroom support staff
- Participate in IEP meetings and maintain compliance with state and district requirements
- Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment

- Schedule: Full-Time
- School Year: August 5, 2026 – May 27, 2027
- Setting: Medically Fragile Self-Contained Classroom
- Caseload: Approximately 7 students
- Classroom Support: 3 instructional assistants
Requirements
- Active state Special Education Teaching License (or eligibility to obtain)
- Moderate/Severe Special Education License preferred (Mild/Moderate certification may be considered)
- Previous experience supporting students with significant disabilities or medically fragile populations preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
