Special Education Teacher Assistant

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM (~27.5 hours/week)

Program Dates: July 6, 2026 – August 14, 2026

Job Overview:
We are seeking dedicated Teacher Aides and Teacher Assistants to provide 1:1 support during an Extended School Year (ESY) summer program. This role focuses on supporting students with individualized needs to maintain academic, behavioral, and functional skills in a structured summer setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support to assigned student throughout the school day
• Assist with academic tasks, routines, and transitions
• Support behavioral and social-emotional needs as directed
• Implement teacher-led instruction and individualized strategies
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment

Qualifications:

• Active New York State Teacher Assistant certification required (or ability to obtain for aide roles, if applicable)
• Prior 1:1 experience strongly preferred
• Experience working with students with special needs is a plus
• Patient, dependable, and team-oriented
• Strong communication and ability to follow direction
