We’re seeking passionate Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP, SLP-CCC) to provide essential services to a diverse caseload. This assignment covers three different settings, giving you the chance to broaden your experience and make a tangible impact in educational environments.
Your placements will be at one of the following sites: Pinson Valley High School (full-time), McAdory Elementary/McCalla Elementary (split schedule), or Hueytown Middle/Lipscomb Elementary (split schedule). Each SLP specialist will work a 37.5-hour week, managing a caseload of approximately 60 students. Collaboration with educators, families, and administration is key to fostering progress and communication skills in students.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current SLP Certification in Alabama
- SLP Educator Certificate
- Previous experience in a school-based setting is highly desirable
- Ability to manage a caseload of around 60 students
- Familiarity with IEP processes and compliance
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Willingness to work onsite exclusively across assigned campuses
- Successful fingerprint clearance as per Alabama educator requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language assessments
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to IEPs
- Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration for student support
- Provide therapy in both individual and group settings
- Communicate progress to parents, teachers, and administrators
