\nEssential Duties:
\nThe TeleCare Team Respiratory Therapist is responsible for patients with respiratory and respiratory–related equipment and for assessment of patient / client need and the selection, instruction, and troubleshooting of appropriate equipment and / or service provided to meet those needs and maintaining appropriate documentation
\nResponsibilities:
\n- \n
- Receives and documents the order for respiratory equipment and / or Chronic Care Programs from the customer service, patient / client, caregiver, physician and family member. \n
- Responsible driving from office to patient home or hospital. \n
- Enroll patients into the appropriate Chronic Care Program as well as assess and educate patients on disease process. \n
- Ensures comprehensive documentation of each patient interaction and follow-up in the SCH charting platform while actively coordinating with the team on escalated cases. \n
- Collects additional information and / or authorization if referral is from other than the physician \n
- Involves the patient / client and / or family, caregiver in the process. \n
- Instructs patients / clients in the proper use and care of respiratory equipment according to the written policies and procedures for that equipment. \n
- Completes patient / client accounts paperwork including Plan of Care / Treatment and assessments. \n
- Acts as liaison between the company and the patient/client, family, caregiver & physician. \n
- Assumes full responsibility for their own actions, professional skills, and attitudes. \n
- Follow all policies and procedures as outlined in JCAHO. \n
- Follows up visits for respiratory patients and assists in continuity of care as needed and determines by Policy and Procedure. \n
- Provides 24-hour on call service, seven days a week as scheduled. \n
- Sets up respiratory and respiratory related equipment for patients. \n
- Provides in services for marketing department and all other department as necessary. \n
- Demonstrates timeliness, courtesy, sincerity and patience when dealing with patients/clients. \n
- Supports the company by being loyal and informing the office of concerns and problems to be resolved. \n
- Determine requirements for treatment, such as type, method and duration of therapy, precautions to be taken, and medication and dosages, compatible with physicians' orders. \n
- Communicates with the patient’s / client’s physician on changes in patient’s condition and/or needs and carries out adjustment to the patient’s / client’s Plan of Care / Treatment. \n
- Perform weekly roundtable discussions regarding all patients enrolled into Chronic Care Programs during Interdisciplinary Care Team meetings. \n
- Monitor patient's physiological responses to therapy, such as vital signs, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry changes, and consult with physician if adverse reactions occur. \n
- Read prescription, measure arterial blood gases, and review patient information to assess patient condition. \n
- \n
- Maintain charts that contain patients' pertinent identification and therapy information & confidentiality. \n
- Effectively operates within continuously developing software systems, i.e Healthcall/Jotform. \n
- Utilize technology to enable Telehealth visits with patients. \n
- Perform other duties as assigned. \n
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

- Experience as respiratory therapist. \n
- Thorough knowledge and skill related to respiratory care field. \n
- Excellent customer relation & communication skills. \n
- People-sensitive characteristics with a genuine desire to help others. \n
- Ability to recognize the needs and concerns of people to result in constructive working relationship. \n
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet conflicting deadlines. \n
- Ability to deal with difficult situations with equanimity. \n
- General computer skills. \n
- Working knowledge of Android/IOS systems. \n
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing with staff and others to provide directions, and other information. \n
- Knowledge of general medical terminology. \n
- Knowledge, ability, and communication skills to conduct research interviews, including the collection of confidential medical and respiratory health histories. \n
- Experience in data cleaning, data checking, and data management. \n
- Excellent interpersonal skills necessary for maintaining study integrity and credibility with physicians, office staff, medical staff, and patients. \n
- Ability to work independently under multiple deadlines, follow instructions, work cooperatively with other staff members and be flexible to work on multiple projects. \n

Minimum Position Qualifications:
\n- \n
- Associates Degree or Equivalent \n
- California Respiratory Care Practitioner license (RCP) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), Valid Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) \n
- Valid State Issued Driver’s License \n
- Experience: 3-5 Respiratory Therapist Experience \n
Preferred Position Qualifications:
\n- \n
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), \n
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) \n
