Location: Indianapolis, IN | Payrate: $37.91/hour | Schedule: 1st shift

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading HVAC manufacturing company to hire an experienced Production Workers Supervisor who is passionate about developing people, driving operational excellence, and leading high-performing teams.

In this leadership role, you'll oversee a team of 60–80 production employees, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations. You'll play a key role in coaching employees, improving production performance, and fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

As a Production Workers Supervisor, you'll lead daily production activities while empowering your team to achieve operational goals and deliver exceptional results.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 60–80 production employees through effective training, communication, performance management, and employee development.

  • Manage staffing, resource allocation, and workflow within a production cell to ensure production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.

  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives that reduce downtime, improve quality, minimize scrap, and increase labor efficiency.

  • Successfully implement engineering and product changes while minimizing disruptions to production.

  • Promote a culture where safety comes first by modeling and enforcing environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.

  • Assign work based on production priorities while ensuring employees have the tools, training, and support needed to perform safely.

  • Monitor work order progress to ensure products are completed on time and meet quality standards.

  • Maintain accurate employee timecards, attendance records, and overtime reporting.

  • Foster positive working relationships with union representatives while ensuring compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

  • Partner with manufacturing, engineering, quality, maintenance, and leadership teams to support production goals and continuous operational improvements.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and manufacturing leadership experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

  • Proven ability to lead, coach, motivate, and develop production teams.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience managing production schedules, staffing, and daily operational priorities.

  • Commitment to workplace safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Supervisory experience in a union manufacturing environment.

  • Experience leading teams of 50+ employees in a high-volume manufacturing operation.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Familiarity with manufacturing metrics, labor efficiency, quality systems, and production reporting.

  • Experience implementing engineering or product changes within a manufacturing environment.

Pay Details: $37.91 per hour
