Make a difference in a student’s life as a Sign Language Interpreter working 1:1 with a third-grade learner in a school-based contract position near Saint Paul, MN. Key Qualifications:
- Minimum EIPA score of 4.0 (required)
- Valid certification and licensure for Sign Language Interpreting
- Experience supporting students in educational settings, preferably at the elementary level
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Dedication to supporting student independence and classroom engagement
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct sign language interpreting services for a third-grade student in all classroom and school-based settings
- Facilitate communication between the student, peers, teachers, and other staff members
- Ensure confidentiality and impartiality in all interpreting interactions
- Adapt interpretation style and methods to meet the student’s individual needs
- Collaborate with educators and support teams to promote student academic and social success
- Maintain accurate records and participate in required meetings or training sessions as needed
