Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum EIPA score of 4.0 (required)
  • Valid certification and licensure for Sign Language Interpreting
  • Experience supporting students in educational settings, preferably at the elementary level
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Dedication to supporting student independence and classroom engagement

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct sign language interpreting services for a third-grade student in all classroom and school-based settings
  • Facilitate communication between the student, peers, teachers, and other staff members
  • Ensure confidentiality and impartiality in all interpreting interactions
  • Adapt interpretation style and methods to meet the student’s individual needs
  • Collaborate with educators and support teams to promote student academic and social success
  • Maintain accurate records and participate in required meetings or training sessions as needed
