Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on industrial paint booths, media blasters, air compressors, breathing air systems, and related equipment
• Respond to unscheduled and emergency service calls within required government response times (6–12 hours)
• Maintain a minimum 96% equipment operational rate in compliance with government contract requirements

Qualifications:

• Experienced Industrial Maintenance Technicians with paint booth, compressor, or HVAC systems background
• OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 (breathing air) familiarity a plus; hands-on experience is highly valued

Key Job Functions:
At VetPowered, the Industrial Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in maintaining and repairing paint booths, media blasters, air compressors, and related systems under a U.S. Air Force contract at Nellis AFB. This position focuses on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repair to ensure maximum equipment uptime in support of aircraft corrosion control and Low Observable (LO) coating operations. The role requires strong technical expertise, the ability to work independently in a government environment, and a commitment to meeting strict response time requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Machine Installation and Setup:

• Inspect, service, and maintain paint booths, media blasters, Torit booths, air make-up units, and related systems per OEM specifications and government PWS requirements.
• Conduct baseline equipment inventories, develop and maintain inspection checklists, and complete all required documentation for government reporting.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual preventative maintenance on all assigned equipment systems per schedule
• Inspect, clean, and lubricate paint booth inserts, exhaust fans, air chiller systems, compressors, dryers, air make-up units, facility doors, and water softener systems per PWS and OEM requirements
• Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and HVAC issues on paint booth and air handling systems
• Perform repairs in a timely manner to support production schedules
• Maintain and repair equipment including: JBI and Pauli Systems aircraft paint booths (F-22, F-35), Ingersoll Rand and Sullivan Palatek air compressors, Motivair desiccant air dryers, Hartzell exhaust fans, Torit dust collection booths, Del-Monox and Domnick Hunter breathing air purification systems, Devilbiss clean air filters, Ram-21 and Maxi-Blast media blast equipment, Technical Systems DX cooling units, and Greenheck and Rupp air make-up units
• · Perform quarterly OSHA Grade D breathing air quality testing coordination and submit certified lab results per contract requirements
• Maintain accurate service records, including maintenance and repair history
• Document machine adjustments, modifications, and configurations
• · Track work performed on equipment, vehicles, and assigned assets
• Provide guidance to operators on proper machine use and basic maintenance
• Support production teams with technical questions and troubleshooting
• · Follow all safety procedures during service and maintenance activities
• · Identify and address potential safety risks related to equipment operation
• · Work with manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams to improve equipment performance
• · Communicate clearly with internal teams and customers to support service delivery
• · Maintain a professional appearance and represent VetPowered appropriately on customer sites
• · Communicate clearly with customers regarding scope of work, findings, and next steps
• · Prepare quotes, perform work, and coordinate materials as needed to complete service requests
• · Deliver consistent, professional, and respectful customer support
• · Maintain 96% monthly operational rate for all assigned paint booth systems; escalate issues to supervision immediately upon discovery
• Support shop and field operations including maintenance, cleaning, diagnostics, and equipment rebuilds
• Assist with facility maintenance as needed
• Deliver or pick up parts, materials, and supplies
• Safely use hand and power tools
• Safely lift up to 50 lbs without assistance
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of company operations
• Other duties as required in support of the department and company goals.

Qualifications & Work Experience:

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily (with or without an accommodation). The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or education a plus.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience maintaining industrial paint booths, spray finishing equipment, air compressors, HVAC/air handling systems, or similar industrial maintenance in a commercial or government environment
• Proven experience maintaining paint booths, breathing air systems, industrial compressors, or equivalent industrial equipment.
• Working knowledge of pneumatic systems, HVAC principles, industrial filtration, and electromechanical troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with OSHA breathing air standards (29 CFR 1910.134), Grade D air quality testing, and safety compliance in industrial environments.
• Ability to read and interpret OEM manuals, maintenance schedules, and government Performance Work Statements.
• Experience working on or around U.S. military installations preferred; ability to obtain and maintain base access credentials required.

Important Notes
Position Details: This is a full-time hourly (non-exempt) position (40+ hours/week). Overtime may be required based on workload and customer needs. There may also be opportunities for weekend work.

Pay: This position includes base hourly pay, with eligibility for overtime and potential incentive compensation.

The range of pay for this Nevada-based position is $32.00 - $45.00 per hour, commensurate with the applicable Service Contract Act Wage Determination (WD 2015-5593) for Clark County, NV.

Work Environment: The employee works primarily on Nellis Air Force Base, Las Vegas, Nevada, within aircraft maintenance hangars and corrosion control facilities. Work includes both scheduled maintenance visits and on-call emergency response. The work environment includes exposure to paint, solvents, compressed air systems, and industrial chemicals. All applicable OSHA, EPA, and Nellis AFB safety regulations must be followed at all times.
