Retail Hospital Staff Pharmacist in Denham Springs, LA

A full-time Medication Therapy Management (MTM) Pharmacist opportunity is available for a 13-week engagement with potential for direct hire. This role supports specialty MTM services and is designed for ongoing MTM needs—not for temporary remote surge coverage. The position offers flexibility with onsite or remote work options, requiring a current Louisiana Pharmacist license and multiple state licenses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and dispense medications according to physician orders, following established policies and protocols.
• Interpret both verbal and written prescriptions, accurately transcribing to computerized patient medication profiles.
• Maintain complete and accurate pharmacy patient records.
• Dispense pharmaceuticals precisely, including controlled substances, and maintain legal documentation.
• Monitor drug therapy regimens for safety, appropriateness, drug interactions, and allergies.
• Identify and report suspected adverse drug reactions promptly.
• Provide clinical consultations and recommend cost-effective therapeutic alternatives to healthcare providers.
• Document all clinical interventions thoroughly.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and medication use reviews, collecting relevant data and maintaining logs.
• Supervise pharmacy support personnel, verify daily activities, and assist with performance appraisals.
• Ensure timely pharmacy services by organizing and prioritizing work independently.
• Conduct medication storage inspections and replace outdated medications.
• Professionally respond to telephone and patient requests.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current Louisiana Pharmacist license required.
• Licensure in at least 5 additional states from the approved list (including but not limited to California, Texas, Maryland, Indiana, Virginia).
• Prior retail or hospital pharmacy experience is mandatory.
• Ability to obtain licensure in a minimum of 10 states (besides Louisiana) within 18 months.
• Strong knowledge of Medication Therapy Management and hospital pharmacy procedures.
