Step into a dynamic contract opportunity for the 2026-27 school year as a Special Education Teacher specializing in Life Skills Education within the Intensive Services Program. This program offers a unique and supportive environment, serving a highly individualized caseload of one to two students per classroom. Each classroom is staffed with at least two trained adults, ensuring robust support for students with complex intellectual, behavioral, social-emotional, communication, adaptive, and/or mental health needs.

As the instructional and behavioral leader, you’ll coordinate programming, implement effective behavior supports, supervise staff, and establish strong partnerships with families and multidisciplinary team members to achieve meaningful student progress. Your role ensures that every learner receives tailored instruction and comprehensive support in a safe, nurturing setting.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher licensure
  • Background working with students requiring highly individualized programs and intensive support
  • Experience delivering direct instruction and behavioral interventions in a self-contained classroom
  • ability to supervise, mentor, and collaborate effectively with support staff and related service providers
  • Strong skills in communication and family engagement
  • Commitment to positive behavioral supports and data-driven practices
  • Preference for candidates who can specify caseload preferences and provide home area or zip code for best classroom match
