Teacher of the Deaf in Clarksville, TN

Make a difference as an educator supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a dynamic school environment just outside of Nashville. This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to work with K-12 students across a range of schools, including specialized hubs for Pre-K through elementary and an expanding program for middle schoolers. You’ll collaborate closely with school teams to provide consultative support tailored to students’ unique communication and educational needs.

Desired Qualifications:

• Active Tennessee Department of Education (DOE) teaching certificate for Deaf/Hard of Hearing
• Previous experience or training as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
• Solid understanding of age-appropriate educational strategies for DHH students, K-12
• Confidence consulting with general education staff, families, and support teams to promote inclusion and access
• Ability to travel to various school sites within the district, as caseloads and assignments may shift
• TN Fingerprints or willingness to complete fingerprinting process for credentialing prior to start

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver educational and consultative services to K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
• Assess student needs and support the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Work with interdisciplinary teams to create accessible learning environments
• Collaborate with families, school administrators, and support service providers
• Promote best practices and advocate for appropriate resources and adaptations
