Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students’ communication and academic success as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). In this dynamic school-based position located near San Jose, you’ll collaborate with experienced SLPs, educators, and a dedicated multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality support for children with diverse speech and language needs.
Openings are available for both full-time (up to 35 hours per week) and part-time schedules, allowing flexibility to match your availability and lifestyle. Multiple positions are open, and specific campus locations will be discussed during the interview process.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid SLPA license/certification for California
- Experience working in school settings or with children/adolescents
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Passion for empowering students and collaborating with educators
- Ability to adapt and solve problems in a fast-paced educational environment
- Familiarity with IEPs and progress documentation is a plus
- Positive, team-oriented attitude
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement speech-language pathology treatment plans developed by licensed SLPs
- Provide consistent support for students both individually and in small groups
- Assist with screenings, progress monitoring, and data collection
- Document student performance and contribute to IEP goals
- Foster a welcoming and encouraging atmosphere for all students
- Communicate regularly with the supervising SLP and school staff
