- Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the job. \n
- Experience as a RN in related work environments. \n
- Ability to work independently as the sole health care provider in the building. \n
- Plan with Health Services Director and the building Principal to implement the health program for the building. \n
- Collaborates with community agencies, health professionals, and staff to identify the health needs of students and staff to facilitate school and community planning and interventions. \n
- Delivery and supervision of care for sick and /or injured students or staff. \n
- Implementation of state mandated screenings. Advise parents of significant findings that need attention and assist them in planning for appropriate care. \n
- Monitoring of student health status, including documented immunizations, health alerts, and health care plans. \n
- Health education and counseling in areas related to, but not limited to, personal health and safety. \n
- Implementation of school health promotion and disease prevention programs. \n
- First-aid training and coordination of school based volunteer Emergency Response Teams. \n
- Development of individual treatment plans to administer medications and treatments to students per the physician's orders and parent authorization. \n
- Maintains records of activities and services and submits any required reports or documentation. \n
- Training and supervision of unlicensed assistive personnel delegated to provide health care or education on health related issues. \n
- Supervision of LPN as applicable. \n
- Attends staff meetings and professional development as requested. \n
- Set priorities and plan workload independently. \n
- Participate in school and district committees like safety, emergency plans, and protocol development as promoted by the Director of Health Services. \n
- Coordinate or lead student health education programs: handwashing, maturation, and outside programs to support community health initiatives. \n

\nObjectives: Facilitate positive student responses to normal development; promote health and safety; intervene with actual and potential health problems; provide case management services; and actively collaborate with others to build student and family capacity for adaptation, self-management, self-advocacy, and learning.

Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:
\nRequires mobility, standing, walking, lifting, pushing, moving, and performing CPR. Sensory: site, hearing, smell, and touch. Fast paced environment that requires quick and accurate decisions, excellent communication skills both oral and in writing. Position encompasses entire building(s) and grounds of the school. Center of operation is the nurse clinic but must be mobile to all locations including classroom. Set priorities and plan workload independently.
\nTerms of Employment: Classified hourly Nurse pay scale based on experience related to school health, starting base rate $25.75. 191 days. PERF Eligible. Benefit eligible on the first day of the month after 60 days of employment. Classified Benefits Guide
