Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A rapidly growing 503A compounding pharmacy in Tempe, AZ is seeking a California and Arizona licensed Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for newer pharmacists eager to gain valuable experience in pharmacy operations and non-sterile compounding within a supportive and expanding environment. Tempe, AZ
Schedule:
- Full-Time, 32 hours per week
- Monday to Thursday
- Shift: 9 AM – 5 PM (flexible shift options available)
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensuring workflow efficiency, productivity, and adherence to all state and federal regulations
- Supervise, mentor, and support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with ongoing training and performance feedback
- Review, verify, and approve prescription orders for accuracy and regulatory compliance before dispensing
- Ensure compliance with Board of Pharmacy regulations, company policies, quality standards, and proper documentation
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and workload distribution to maintain optimal service levels and operational efficiency
- Collaborate with leadership on operational improvements and process enhancements to uphold high levels of patient care and customer service
- Participate in non-sterile compounding activities as needed (training provided)
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active, clear Pharmacist licenses in California and Arizona (dual licensure is essential)
- Minimum of 2 years pharmacist experience, with mail order, long-term care, or 503A compounding experience strongly preferred
- Non-sterile compounding experience is a plus but not required
- Pharmacy management experience is highly desirable
- Ability to commit to a full-time schedule
