Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Pharmacist to join a growing retail compounding pharmacy. This role is ideal for a pharmacist with strong sterile compounding expertise who is passionate about quality, compliance, and patient care. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing sterile and non-sterile compounding operations while ensuring adherence to USP standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide pharmacist oversight of sterile and non-sterile compounding activities.
  • Verify compounded and commercially available prescriptions for accuracy, safety, clinical appropriateness, labeling, and completeness.
  • Ensure compliance with USP <797>, applicable USP standards, state and federal regulations, quality systems, and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain sterile cleanroom best practices, including aseptic technique, garbing, hand hygiene, cleaning, disinfection, and contamination control.
  • Supervise pharmacy personnel involved in compounding operations and support training, competency assessments, and documentation.
  • Review compounding records, formulation documentation, logs, and quality-control records.
  • Support environmental monitoring, personnel monitoring, media-fill testing, fingertip sampling, and other quality assurance initiatives.
  • Investigate and document deviations, quality events, errors, complaints, and compliance concerns.
  • Assist in the development and continuous improvement of pharmacy procedures and workflows.
  • Support regulatory inspections, licensing reviews, and audit readiness efforts.
  • Collaborate with prescribers, technicians, pharmacy staff, and external partners to maintain efficient operations.
  • Provide patient counseling and clinical consultation as needed.

Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Maryland Pharmacist license required.
  • Active California Pharmacist license preferred (Candidates actively pursuing California licensure or willing to obtain California licensure within 120 days of hire are encouraged to apply.)
  • Recent, hands-on experience in sterile compounding and USP <797> environments.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations, compliance standards, and quality systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and documentation practices.
  • Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced setting.
