What we’re seeking:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience in elementary and/or middle school environments
- Skilled in supporting students with mild behavioral needs (no significant behavioral intervention required)
- Able to provide toileting assistance as needed; comfortable addressing hygiene with professionalism and sensitivity
- Experience working with diverse abilities, including students with feeding tubes (training provided if needed)
- Collaborative approach to partnering with Teaching Assistants, Behavior Technicians, and 1:1 aides
Role responsibilities:
- Teach and support a small elementary classroom (6 students), focusing on individualized learning with support from a Teaching Assistant and Behavior Technician
- Guide a middle school group (11 students), collaborating with a strong support team that includes a 1:1 aide, three full-time Teaching Assistants, and another teacher
- Adapt lesson plans and instructional materials to meet individual IEP goals and facilitate student progress
- Provide toileting support for students requiring assistance, ensuring dignity and care
- Observe student performance, maintain detailed records, and communicate regularly with multidisciplinary team members
- Foster an inclusive, positive atmosphere that respects every student’s strengths and challenges
