Special Education Teacher | Thornton, Colorado

These roles are located in both Westminster and Thornton, Colorado, providing flexible placements based on your strengths and experience.

What we’re seeking:

• Valid Colorado Department of Education Teacher license with Special Education Generalist (5-21) endorsement required.
• Experience working with students with mild, moderate, or severe cognitive and behavioral disabilities.
• Familiarity with CPI, de-escalation strategies, ABA principles, and autism interventions.
• Self-contained classroom and/or station-based teaching experience is advantageous.
• Comfort leading a small team of paraprofessionals for more intensive support settings.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to partner with service providers (speech/OT/psych) and school administration.
• Ability to complete district-specific credentialing and documentation efficiently before the assignment start date.

Your responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction in a full-time capacity for assigned caseload—ranging from learning support to affective/structured learning services.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs.
• Foster a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Collaborate closely with fellow educators, therapists, and paraprofessionals to maximize student potential.
• Employ evidence-based behavioral and instructional strategies.
• Communicate regularly with parents, team members, and administrators to ensure student progress.
