Compensation: $35$50 per hour, depending on experience and licensing
About the Role
Mancan Staffing is assisting a local client in their search for an experienced Master Physical Security Systems Technician to serve as the highest-level technical expert within their field services team.
This position is responsible for leading the most complex commercial security system installations, troubleshooting advanced technical issues, and ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and code compliance.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, low-voltage systems, and IP networking. This role is designed for a seasoned professional who can serve as a technical leader, mentor technicians at all levels, and provide expertise on challenging projects from installation through completion.
Responsibilities
Serve as the lead technical expert on complex access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and low-voltage installations
Provide advanced system programming, commissioning, integration, and troubleshooting support
Diagnose and resolve complex system, network, and integration issues escalated by other technicians
Establish and maintain installation standards, quality control processes, and code compliance across job sites
Lead, train, and mentor technicians at all experience levels
Work closely with project managers on planning, scheduling, materials, project scope, and problem resolution
Perform final inspections, system testing, and customer walkthroughs during project completion
Ensure all installations meet NEC requirements, manufacturer specifications, and applicable industry standards
Serve as a technical resource when working with customers, contractors, and other trades
Maintain tools, testing equipment, company vehicle, and inventory at a professional standard
Promote and enforce safety procedures and company policies on every job site
Qualifications
Required:
Two or more active licenses in Alarm, Electrical (ELE), and/or Low Voltage
7+ years of experience installing, integrating, and troubleshooting physical security and low-voltage systems
Expert knowledge of access control, video surveillance, intrusion systems, and low-voltage cabling
Strong understanding of IP networking as it relates to security systems
Advanced knowledge of NEC requirements and applicable industry standards
Proven ability to lead crews, mentor technicians, and maintain quality standards
Ability to read, interpret, and modify blueprints, schematics, and riser diagrams
Advanced proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and testing/commissioning equipment
Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and elevated surfaces
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
High school diploma or GED
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Preferred:
NICET certification (Level II or higher)
Multiple manufacturer certifications in access control, video, and intrusion platforms
Experience working in commercial, healthcare, education, or institutional environments
Previous experience mentoring or supervising technical team
