An exciting opportunity awaits experienced School Psychologists eager to make a meaningful impact in a supportive educational environment. A newly established Autism Center, serving K-8th grade, welcomes a dedicated professional to provide psychological and counseling services to students. This full-time, contract position is at a single, state-of-the-art site near Leesburg, FL, set within a modern, spacious facility and thoughtfully designed to support both students and staff.
Serving a student population of 96, with each classroom capped at six students, this setting allows for individualized attention and a collaborative approach to student growth. As part of a closely-knit team—including two Board Certified Behavior Analysts—you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate daily and provide comprehensive support. Counseling is a key requirement, playing a vital role in the students' overall well-being and success.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology
- Valid state licensure or eligibility as a School Psychologist
- Demonstrated experience working with students on the autism spectrum (K-8 preferred)
- Strong background in both psychological evaluation and counseling in school settings
- Collaborative spirit and an interest in working with BCBAs and other educational staff
- Solid understanding of IEPs, behavioral intervention, and supportive counseling techniques
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments and contribute to the creation of IEPs
- Deliver individual and group counseling to students
- Partner with BCBAs, teachers, and staff to develop and implement behavioral and academic interventions
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and strategies
- Maintain accurate and confidential records
