Job Description
A growing company is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to join its corporate accounting team. This position will play a key role in managing the revenue accounting process, ensuring compliance with GAAP, analyzing production and sales data, and supporting the month-end close process. The ideal candidate will have upstream oil & gas experience, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of revenue recognition and joint interest accounting concepts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform monthly revenue accounting activities, including recording oil, gas, and NGL sales transactions.
  • Analyze production volumes, pricing, royalties, and revenue distributions.
  • Prepare and review revenue accruals, reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Ensure compliance with ASC 606 and company revenue recognition policies.
  • Research and resolve revenue discrepancies with operators, purchasers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Support external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests.
  • Collaborate with land, operations, marketing, and finance teams to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Review division orders, ownership changes, and royalty calculations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
  • Assist with SEC reporting and financial statement disclosures as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • CPA certification or CPA candidate preferred.
  • 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably within oil & gas.
  • Strong understanding of upstream revenue accounting and revenue recognition principles.
  • Experience with oil & gas accounting systems such as Enverus, OGSYS, Excalibur, SAP, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Pay Details: $90,000.00 to $110,000.00 per year
