Senior Payroll Specialist

Location: Overland Park, KS (Onsite)

About the Opportunity

A growing organization is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to join its accounting and payroll team. This position is responsible for supporting weekly payroll processing, maintaining payroll records, assisting with reporting requirements, and serving as a resource for payroll-related questions. The ideal candidate will have payroll experience in a high-volume environment within the construction industry. Read below for additional details!

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the preparation and processing of weekly payroll.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and employee payroll documentation.
  • Support certified payroll reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Prepare and reconcile union-related reports and filings.
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
  • Respond to payroll-related phone calls and emails in a professional and timely manner.
  • Collaborate with accounting, HR, and operations teams to ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Assist with audits, reporting, and payroll reconciliations.
  • Provide support for additional accounting and administrative functions as needed.
  • Follow established payroll procedures, internal controls, and company policies.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience.
  • Experience processing payroll for a large employee population preferred.
  • Union payroll experience.
  • Construction industry experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Preferred Experience:
  • Weekly payroll processing.
  • Multi-state payroll exposure.
  • Certified payroll reporting.
  • Union reporting and reconciliations.
  • High-volume payroll environments.

Pay Details: $700,000.00 to $100,000.00 per year
