Job Description
Bring your expertise in cross-categorical special education to a vibrant and supportive educational setting near De Pere, WI. This contract opportunity runs from August 18, 2026, to June 10, 2027, and is ideal for passionate educators who thrive collaborating with diverse learners. Two positions are available for cross-categorical special education teachers—one focused on middle school (grades 6-8) and another at the high school level. You’ll work with students with a range of mild-to-moderate disabilities—such as learning disabilities, emotional/behavior disorders, and mild intellectual disabilities—delivering services in an inclusive classroom environment.
Qualifications:
- Active Wisconsin Cross-Categorical Special Education certification (License #2801)
- Demonstrated experience supporting students on the autism spectrum
- Prior work with middle or high school students preferred
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom culture
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement lesson plans for students with diverse learning needs in a cross-categorical setting
- Provide individualized and small group instruction to maximize student progress
- Collaborate with general education staff and families to support student achievement
- Maintain up-to-date documentation and comply with all special education legal and procedural requirements
- Develop and adapt Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
- Utilize evidence-based strategies to motivate and encourage student participation and growth
