Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid and active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL); copies must be provided with your application.
• Experience working as a Special Education Teacher, particularly in Life Skills Self-Contained or Resource/Instructional classrooms.
• Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
• Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
• Passion for fostering independence and growth in students with diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to individual education plans.
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and general education staff to support inclusive practices.
• Track and communicate student progress, attending meetings as required.
• Foster a safe, positive, and supportive classroom culture.
• Engage with families to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
