Life Skills Education Teacher – Intensive Services Program (Behavior)
Schedule: Full-Time (37.5 Hours/Week)
School Year: 2026–2027
ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated Life Skills Education Teacher to support a school district during the 2026–2027 school year. This full-time opportunity is ideal for educators who are passionate about supporting students with significant intellectual and behavioral needs through highly individualized instruction in a structured learning environment.
Position Overview
The Life Skills Education Teacher will provide direct instruction, specialized educational programming, and behavioral support to students with intellectual disabilities enrolled in the Intensive Services Program. This highly structured, self-contained classroom serves one to two students and requires close collaboration with support staff, families, and multidisciplinary team members to promote positive student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct instruction and specialized educational programming for students with intellectual disabilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Deliver individualized behavioral interventions and supports to promote student success
- Monitor and document student progress toward academic, behavioral, and functional goals
- Serve as the instructional and behavioral leader of the classroom
- Supervise and collaborate with classroom support staff to ensure a safe and effective learning environment
- Collaborate with families, related service providers, and multidisciplinary team members
- Maintain compliance with state, district, and special education requirements

- Setting: Self-contained Intensive Services Program
- Caseload: 1–2 students with significant intellectual, behavioral, social-emotional, communication, adaptive, and/or mental health needs
- Classroom Support: Minimum of two trained adults present at all times
Requirements
- Active state Special Education Teaching License (or eligibility to obtain)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
- Experience supporting students with significant behavioral and intellectual disabilities preferred
- Strong classroom management, behavior intervention, collaboration, and communication skills
