Special Education Teacher - Schertz, TX

We're seeking two passionate educators to provide instruction in Life Skills (RISE) classes for elementary (K-5th) or secondary (6-12th) grade levels. Located near the vibrant San Antonio area, you’ll be joining a welcoming, supportive district and agency team for the upcoming school year, from August 11 through May 25.

As a Life Skills (RISE) teacher, you’ll empower small groups of students who require significant support, shaping essential educational and social foundations in a collaborative classroom environment. The scheduled workhours are 8:00am – 4:00pm, totaling 37.5 hours per week.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

• Valid Special Education and core content teaching certifications (required)
• Experience or interest in supporting children with significant needs in Life Skills or RISE programs
• Strong classroom management and differentiation skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive learning environment
• Flexibility to teach either elementary or secondary grade levels as assigned

Your day-to-day will include:

• Delivering tailored instruction and adaptive curriculum to meet IEP goals
• Providing direct care, guidance, and interventions for students’ academic and personal needs
• Collaborating with general education teachers, therapists, and specialized staff
• Engaging with families to support student progress and well-being
• Maintaining clear documentation and compliance with special education regulations
