Job Description
Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity serving students as a Special Education Teacher. This role is essential in creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment and supporting student achievement in resource and moderate/severe (Autism) settings. Four positions are currently available: one for a Resource Specialist and three for those experienced in moderate/severe classrooms focused on Autism.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching credential
- Experience in resource environments and/or moderate/severe settings (Autism focus)
- Strong classroom management and communication abilities
- Ability to collaborate with general education staff, therapists, and families
- Passion for individualized instruction and student progress tracking
- Excellence in creating differentiated lesson plans and behavioral supports
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, adapt, and deliver specialized instruction per Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Assess student strengths and needs, tracking progress and making data-based adjustments
- Create positive, structured classroom environments fostering growth and engagement
- Communicate regularly with school teams and families to support each student’s goals
- Collaborate on IEP meetings and compliance documentation
- Utilize evidence-based interventions and accommodations for diverse learners
- Implement strategies and supports for students with Autism, especially in moderate/severe classrooms
