Bring your expertise and compassion to a dynamic middle school environment as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming academic year! Two skilled professionals are needed to support students in inclusive, collaborative settings, working alongside general education teachers and fostering strong learning foundations. This contract opportunity covers August 5th through May 21st, 2027, with pre-planning and specialized training taking place from July 29th.

Available Positions:

  • 6th Grade | Co-Teaching Math & Science: Support around 10-12 sixth-grade students, primarily assisting those transitioning for their first year in middle school. Caseload may fluctuate slightly based on student enrollment. Expect a diverse mix of eligibility categories including Autism, OHI, SLD, MID, EBD; some may have behavior plans, but significant behaviors requiring intense intervention are typically not part of the co-taught setting.
  • 7th/8th Grade | Co-Teaching ELA & Science: Guide approximately 10-12 seventh and eighth graders in a supportive inclusion environment. Students present a range of needs (Autism, OHI, SLD, MID, EBD); some may require behavior plans but not intensive intervention.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Active GaPSC SPED Consultative P-12 Teaching Endorsement required
  • Experience in co-teaching and inclusion models preferred
  • Ability to collaborate with general education staff
  • Strong communication, organization, and flexibility
  • Commitment to developing IEPs and implementing evidence-based strategies
  • Passion for empowering diverse learners
  • Available full-time: Monday–Friday, 7:45 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.
  • Toileting and diapering tasks are not required
