Job Description
Inspire young minds and foster a love for science by guiding middle school students through a dynamic, hands-on learning experience. This full-time, onsite position spanning the 2026–2027 academic year offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive educational environment. You'll engage with general education students in science, with special education professionals available to assist students who require additional support.
Qualifications:
- Active teaching certification/licensure matching the assigned caseload
- Bachelor’s degree required (for emergency teaching permit eligibility)
- Completion of all necessary Pennsylvania clearances
- At least one year of experience in a school setting
- Demonstrated mastery of science content and instructional strategies
- Strong classroom and behavioral management expertise
- Comfortable working within an urban school environment
- Reliable transportation to and from the work site
- Ability to work Mondays through Fridays, 8:30 AM–4 PM without schedule accommodations
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans for middle school science, aligning with state and district standards
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and utilize formative assessment tools to drive student progress
- Maintain a focused, positive, and safe classroom atmosphere, reinforcing high behavioral standards
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, including special education staff, to support optimal student outcomes
- Participate in professional development and ongoing instructional planning
- Communicate regularly with families and school leadership regarding student progress
