If so, Adecco is hiring for an exciting Purchasing Agent / Buyer / Planner opportunity with a growing manufacturer specializing in electrical cable assemblies and wire harnesses!
What You'll DoAs the Purchasing Agent / Buyer / Planner, you'll play a critical role in supporting Just-In-Time (JIT) manufacturing operations by ensuring materials are available when needed while optimizing inventory levels and controlling costs.
Key Responsibilities:Plan and procure raw materials, components, and production supplies
Generate and manage purchase orders through ERP/MRP systems
Coordinate closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and accounting teams
Maintain accurate item master data, costs, and units of measure
Build and manage supplier relationships while resolving delivery, pricing, and quality issues
Monitor inventory levels to support JIT manufacturing goals
Support vendor consolidation and cost-saving initiatives
Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including inventory turnover and delivery performance
Analyze material cost variances and support month-end financial reporting
Ensure accurate cost rollups, inventory valuation, and cost reporting
Assist with audit, regulatory, and quality compliance documentation
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of purchasing, procurement, planning, or buyer experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as Epicor, SAP, Oracle, or similar
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Knowledge of inventory management, purchasing processes, and supplier relations
Understanding of standard cost, last cost, cost rollups, and inventory valuation
Strong analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Experience within electrical, electronics, cable assembly, wire harness, or electromechanical manufacturing
APICS CPIM or CSCP Certification
Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kanban, and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI)
Understanding of manufacturing cost accounting principles
