Job Description
As Kitchen Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of our high-volume scratch kitchen. Your culinary expertise, leadership, and commitment to excellence will ensure exceptional food quality, efficient operations, and an outstanding dining experience for every guest. Experience managing large kitchens, catering operations, and high-volume service is essential.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and motivate a team of line cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers to execute successful lunch, dinner, banquet, and catering services.
- Ensure consistent execution of recipes, portion control, presentation standards, and food quality.
- Maintain strict adherence to sanitation, food safety, and health department regulations.
- Partner with the Executive Chef and management team to develop seasonal features, improve menu execution, and drive operational excellence.
- Manage inventory, purchasing, and vendor relationships while controlling food cost and minimizing waste.
- Create efficient kitchen schedules that support business needs while managing labor costs.
- Oversee kitchen maintenance and ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
- Train, mentor, and develop kitchen team members while fostering a positive, professional workplace culture.
- Monitor kitchen performance and implement systems that improve speed of service, consistency, and profitability.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Manager, Executive Sous Chef, or Senior Kitchen Leader in a high-volume, scratch kitchen.
- Experience managing full-service restaurant operations with bar service and catering preferred.
- Strong knowledge of American cuisine, scratch cooking techniques, and modern kitchen operations.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to build, coach, and retain high-performing teams.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, food and labor cost controls, scheduling, and purchasing.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
