Accounting Manager Location: Salem, OR Pay: $29.00 - $36.00 per hour Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (On-Site)

Our client, a growing manufacturing company in the Salem area, is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to make a meaningful impact within an organization experiencing significant growth. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role will oversee day-to-day accounting operations while helping strengthen financial processes and support the company's continued expansion.

What You'll Do
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, customer billing, and check runs
  • Lead the month-end close process and ensure timely completion of financial reporting activities
  • Prepare journal entries and maintain amortization schedules
  • Prepare and file Federal Excise Tax (FET) and state sales tax returns on a quarterly basis
  • Reconcile bank accounts and manage online banking activity and portals
  • Perform general ledger account reconciliations and ensure accurate classification of financial transactions
  • Support fixed asset accounting, including maintaining depreciation schedules
  • Assist with financial period closings and ongoing accounting process improvements
  • Collaborate with leadership to support company growth initiatives
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of accounting experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
  • Experience working with ERP systems; M1 ERP experience is a plus
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Manufacturing industry experience is a plus
