Lead HVAC Mechanic

Insight Global is seeking a Lead HVAC Mechanic for a leading facilities management client. This individual will operate at a journeyman level, handling complex HVAC systems across a critical environment while also taking on leadership responsibilities. The role involves not only hands-on technical work—such as installation, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance—but also mentoring technicians, assigning work orders, and ensuring all systems meet strict operational requirements. Must-Haves:

• High School Diploma
• EPA Universal Certification
• One of the following HVAC certifications:
• • Journeyman HVAC
  • NATE HVAC Service Technician
  • UA Star HVAC Mastery Certification
  • TDLR A/C Refrigeration Technician Certification
• U.S. Citizenship (USC)

Plusses:

• Prior experience leading or mentoring junior HVAC technicians
• Experience in government or highly regulated facilities
• Strong familiarity with HVAC control systems
• Welding and fabrication experience

Day-to-Day:

• Install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilation equipment
• Perform diagnostic testing and preventative maintenance (filters, coils, cooling towers, etc.)
• Overhaul and repair complex HVAC systems in controlled environments
• Assign and manage work orders for a team of technicians
• Train and support new staff members
• Research specifications and ensure installations meet tenant requirements
• Perform general building maintenance tasks related to HVAC and electrical systems
• Fabricate and install ductwork, tubing, and chassis components
• Work independently and collaboratively to ensure system efficiency
